Individuals, associations and companies can support Bolzano Danza Festival and help promote the arts in South Tyrol in a number of ways. The festival is a cultural event which breaks down language and cultural barriers to build community. It involves music, design, architecture and the visual arts. FRANCESCA SANTAMARIA – GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) – Studio
GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) is the second part of the GOOD VIBES ONLY trilogy, a networked project that explores the act of scrolling through the body. A single, repetitive, obsessive gesture that 21st-century humans perform automatically hundreds of times a day. As simple as this physical motion may seem, it nevertheless raises a series of existential, political, sociological, and ethical questions about the contemporary world. The project stems from a critical reflection on the social network TikTok, founded in 2022, and investigates the following questions: How can the logic underlying scrolling be transferred from the screen to the body? How can the viewing mechanism at play when scrolling through social media be recreated on stage? And what are the consequences of doing so?
Francesca Santamaria works in the field of performing arts. Her research focuses on contemporary performance, using the moving body and its limits to explore and reflect on the concept of performing. Her creative journey began in 2021. In 2022, she took part in the choreographic research program Incubatore per futur_ coreograf_, organized by CIMD. Her work has been presented at national and international festivals and exhibitions, including Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore, Romaeuropa Festival, Contemporanea Festival, B.Motion – Operaestate, MILANoLTRE, and Danza in Rete.
