Three performers with disabilities share a stage. What follows redefines what dance can be.
 
Michel – The Animals I Am began as a solo. Over four years, through a series of deliberate, considered handovers, it has become something else entirely: a work for three performers that challenges the idea of the artist as exceptional individual — and replaces it with something more honest, and more interesting.Choreographer Chiara Bersani — winner of the UBU Prize and the Total Theatre Award at Edinburgh — drew her original inspiration from Michel Fokine’s The Dying Swan, created for Anna Pavlova in 1905. The title pays homage to jazz pianist Michel Petrucciani, who performed until his death despite a rare bone condition, and whose playing remains a masterclass in expressive freedom.This is not a work about disability. It’s a work about presence, about what a body can do when it stops trying to conform, and about the particular kind of power that comes from being seen exactly as you are.
 
For blind and visually impaired people, the performance will be accompanied by a poetic audio description by Camilla Guarino and Giuseppe Comuniello. Before the performance, a free tactile stage tour (7:30 pm) is also available upon prior registration.
 
People with disabilities receive a discounted ticket for €12; admission is free for one accompanying person.

·         Whether you wish to attend the performance (with or without audio description) and/or the tactile stage tour
