Peeping Tom
Diptych
A hotel room. A bourgeois living room. Two stories that will get under your skin. Since founding Peeping Tom in Brussels in 2000, Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier have built a reputation for work that borrows equally from psychological thriller, physical theater, and dream logic. Diptych is among their most unsettling and accomplished pieces. Originally created for Nederlands Dans Theater, these two short works — The Missing Door and The Lost Room — have been reimagined for Peeping Tom’s own company and woven into a single, seamless evening. The settings are deceptively ordinary: a hotel room, a living room. But floors shift, doors open onto impossible spaces, and the people who inhabit these rooms seem to be operating under rules you can’t quite identify. Winner of the Olivier Award in the UK. Presented worldwide. Coming to Bolzano for one night only. If you see one dance-theater work this festival, make it this one.
