Daniele Ninarello
RISE
Five dancers. Silver ribbons. A live score. And a question about what it takes to move together. Daniele Ninarello’s new work opens with long silver ribbons suspended above the stage, creating thresholds — boundaries that invite crossing. Five performers begin with small, simple gestures. Repeated, shared, passed between bodies, those gestures gradually build into something that feels less like choreography and more like a common language being invented in real time.
Composer Dan Kinzelman performs the score live, and the relationship between sound and movement here is genuinely reciprocal — neither fully leads, neither fully follows.
RISE is a work about disconnection and its antidote. It doesn’t preach the point. It demonstrates it — for 50 minutes, in front of your eyes, with a group of people who have clearly spent months learning how to really listen to each other.Co-produced by Bolzano Danza as part of the RING Network Project. Features young performers who participated in the PARADE creative workshop.
