CCN / ATERBALLETTO
Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda + MicroDanze
An extraordinary double site-specific event opens the 42nd edition of Bolzano Danza in the evocative setting of Maretsch Castle.
A modular project born from the exploration of new ways of experiencing dance in unconventional spaces, MicroDanze presents three short works in one of the city’s most iconic landmarks—an imposing fortress and noble residence dating back to the late 13th century. The programme features Terra Piccola by Antonella Bertoni, Eppur si muove by Francesca Lattuada, and Soft P, a world premiere by Aterballetto’s resident choreographer Diego Tortelli.
The evening continues with another site-specific creation by Aterballetto, developed in collaboration with the Haydn Orchestra. Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda is an original work inspired by one of Claudio Monteverdi’s most extraordinary compositions, conceived to engage audiences regardless of their familiarity with dance. Directed by Fabio Cherstich, Artist in Residence of the Haydn Foundation for the 2025–2027 triennium, and choreographed by Philippe Kratz, the performance is accompanied live by a quartet of musicians from the Haydn Orchestra: Nicolò Balducci (countertenor), Stefano Ferrario (violin), Luca Pasqual (cello), and Francesco Luigi Trivisano (harpsichord).
This event will also take place on 13 July at Castello del Buonconsiglio and on 14 July at Castel Thun.
In collaboration with the Foundation Castles Bolzano.
