A powerful solo performance that erupts from the body to celebrate freedom and its raw, vital energy. On stage, two eccentric figures, all glitter and attitude, straight out of a faded dancefloor fantasy, channel a wild, ecstatic dance: absurd, tense, and full of life. Beneath the surface lies a charged desire for expression and release. The debut work of Italian-Austrian choreographer Simone Lorenzo Benini, (e poi entrarono i cinghiali) combines physical practices, stream-of-consciousness writing, and eye contact as a choreographic tool. It explores the need for self-affirmation and the pursuit of an authentic, unconstrained life. Created in 2023 and developed through residencies in Slovakia and Italy, the piece was selected for the Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore eXtra, Italy’s leading platform for emerging choreographers.
